Issue Summary

Following the recent One UI 8.5 update on my Samsung Galaxy M35, the device is experiencing network connectivity issues where both Jio and Airtel connections automatically switch to 4G even though 5G is selected as the preferred network mode.

Issue Description

After installing the One UI 8.5 update, the device is unable to consistently remain connected to the 5G network. This behavior is observed on both Jio and Airtel SIM connections. Although 5G is configured as the preferred network mode, the device automatically falls back to 4G without user action.

Device and Network Details

  • Software version: One UI 8.5
  • Network providers affected: Jio and Airtel
  • Preferred network mode selected: 5G
  • Observed network mode: Automatically switches to 4G

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Update the device to One UI 8.5.
  2. Insert or enable the Jio or Airtel SIM connection.
  3. Set the preferred network mode to 5G.
  4. Observe the network status after some time.

Expected Result

The device should remain connected to the 5G network when 5G is selected as the preferred network mode and 5G coverage is available.

I tested with other phones and everything works as expected. Looks like this is the issue with only Samsung M35 phones.
