It’s frustrating to see how Apple handles software updates compared to Samsung. Apple just released iOS 27 simultaneously for all supported devices, meaning even a 6 year old iPhone SE is already running the latest OS. On the other hand, Samsung started its beta testing earlier, but still hasn't delivered a stable release for its newest flagship phones. Because Samsung doesn't use fixed release dates and relies on staggered rollouts, they will likely never beat Apple when it comes to update delivery.

Samsung never going to achieve this level of control on updates. They always blame Android and processor differences. But not even trying to give updates to all S series devices. 🙄 💻 🔄

I lost all hope already on update cycles. 😞 ⏳

Apple releases its updates worldwide for all supported devices and variants on the same day. For example, iPhone 18 and iPhone 11 can receive iOS 27 on the same release date across supported regions and variants.

So why doesn’t Samsung follow a similar approach? Why are Samsung users treated differently depending on their region or device variant? Samsung is currently rolling out One UI updates for the S26 series, but the rollout seems to vary by country and variant.

Why is there such a difference in the update policy? Samsung should provide major software updates globally, on the same day, for all supported devices and variants—just like Apple does.
